Local nursery gets another “outstanding” Ofsted rating

9th June 2015

A popular nursery in Hare Hatch the near Twyford, has been given an “outstanding” rating in every category in its latest Ofsted report.

It is the second consecutive outstanding report for Hare Hatch Montessori, which was established in 1995 by owner Patricia Cuss.

Housed in Hare Hatch Village Hall on Tag Lane, the nursery has 55 children on role between the ages of 2 and 4, and follows the Montessori philosophy, which holds that all children are natural learners, and fosters independence and creativity. According to the report, Hare Hatch children are keen problem-solvers and lateral thinkers who are “exceptionally well prepared for their move on to school.

Another key Montessori idea is that children thrive with a sense of order – something highlighted as a positive by the Ofsted report, along with children being kept “exceptionally” safe and playing very well together, both indoors and in the “innovative” outdoor area.

The Ofsted report also notes the nursery’s excellent quality of teaching, and states that children are, “highly motivated to learn and are very eager to join in the rich, varied, imaginative experiences in this purposeful learning environment.”

“We are absolutely delighted with this result. The team are dedicated to bringing out the very best in each child. We have such a range of unique personalities among the children, and what we learn from each of them helps to make us better teachers. This fantastic outcome is also down to the support of our parents, who really contribute to making this a wonderful, nurturing environment.”
